조선인 최초로 일본 의사면허를 받은 의사. 민족문제연구소가 2026년 8월 공개한 행적은 1909~1927년 18년에 걸친다 — 이토 히로부미 추도회 준비위원(1909), 한국병합기념장 수상(1912), 경성부 협의회원(1914·1918·1920), 경성신사 씨자총대(1915), 대정친목회 평의원(1916), 경성종로금융조합장(1922~27), 동민회 평의원(1925~27). 총독부 기관지 매일신보(1918)에 '조선 옷은 한 벌도 없다', '조선 사람과 상관이 없다'고 말한 기록이 있다.
